Maxfield Materne

  • Queen's University

Max grew up in Toronto before completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Business at Queen’s University, graduating in 2015.

Max credits his enthusiasm for entrepreneurship to his experience running a painting business during his second summer of undergrad. He has since chased a number of entrepreneurial ventures ranging from apps to promoting corporate innovation. What keeps Max fascinated and engaged with entrepreneurship is the constantly rewarding environment of taking on tough, complex, worthy challenges, alongside the type of person that those challenges attract.

While at school, Max was an active member of the Queen’s sporting community. Playing on the varsity soccer team, mentoring first year athletes and taking photos for the athletics department helped satisfy his incredible appetite for athletics.

Now that he’s graduated, Max will often be found playing soccer, at trivia with his friends, playing board games of all types and devising his next great trip. He has a travel goal of visiting every autonomous and semi-autonomous island nation on the planet, continuing next with either Iceland or the Azores.
