Venture for America Model

Founded in 2011 by Andrew Yang, Venture for America (VFA) has in only a few years time emerged as one of the most sought after opportunities for top graduates from universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Columbia.

Since its inception, nearly 200 fellows have participated as part of the program, being placed to work at top startups across the United States. VFA has directed top talent to job creating firms, all the while helping to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.

The breadth and quality of VFA’s supporters is indicative of the tremendous success of the organization. Venture for America’s supporters include figures such as LinkedIn Founder Reid Hoffman and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as well as corporations such as PwC, UBS, and Bank of America.

Moreover, the organization has been recognized in national media outlets, such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, for its innovative work promoting American entrepreneurship in cities such as Cincinnati, Detroit, and Baltimore.

While Venture for Canada and VFA are legally separate organizations, we are inspired by the tremendous work of VFA, and are implementing a very similar program model in Canada. For more background on VFA, please check out the organization’s website.
